Our Services

Occupational Therapy is an Allied Health Profession and is regulated by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Occupational Therapists work holistically with clients to support engagement in and satisfaction with a range of everyday living tasks. myAbility has a team of experienced Occupational Therapists who use sound judgement and clinical reasoning and are committed to supporting people accomplish their goals.

Assessment

 

myAbility offer specialised services to assess and evaluate a client’s ability to undertake everyday living tasks. The outcome of assessments is then used to identify goals.

Goal Setting and Evaluation

 

myAbility provide an individual and personal experience to set goals and achieve optimal outcomes. Clients are supported to develop goals that are meaningful and realistic. A Goal Attainment Scaling method is utilised to formulate and review goals with clients.

Intervention

 

A customised intervention program is developed to work towards goal achievement. The collaboration that myAbility offers between therapist, client and support team is integral to achieving optimal outcomes and maintaining performance long term.

Empowering Life Skills

Budgeting: Prioritising & managing your expenses for your needs and wants for a given period.


Meal Planning and Preparation: Organising a routine for daily and weekly meal plans and support to maximise independence in meal preparation skills.


Travel Training: Support in identifying various modes, routes and the time required for travel as well as interventions to practice the proposed journey.


Money Handling: Accurately identifying Australian currency and calculating the cost and/or change for small purchases.


Home Care and Cleaning: Establishing a routine and executing a plan for the upkeep of your home or your personal spaces within the house.


Personal Care: Establishing a plan and routine for completing self-care activities independently, including showering, grooming and selecting appropriate clothing.


Accommodation Options: Investigating and applying for various supports and housing options.


Shopping: Formulating a plan for preparing a shopping list as well as supporting you to maximise your independence in various shopping tasks.


Weekly Planning and Organisational Skills: Developing skills for identifying tasks required to organise your week and ensuring their completion within an appropriate time frame.


Reports

 

myAbility can provide detailed and comprehensive reports when required. This will incur a charge based on the time taken to generate the report. When making a request, you must provide any details of specific information you require to be contained in the report. A minimum of 10 business days is required when requesting a report.

Fees

 

myAbility fees are charged in accordance with the current NDIS Price Schedule for Occupational Therapy services. Fees may be subject to an annual increase on July 1st of each year in line with the NDIS price guide.

myAbility charges for travel in accordance with the NDIS price guide and schedule for Capacity Building Provider travel. Travel is charged at the same NDIS price rate for service provision and is proportioned to the time spent travelling to the location the support is being provided at from the myAbility office location of either Heathmont or Park Orchards. Travel charges are issued separately to service provision charges.
